NY Theater Festival (almost)

Hey all! It's been a while since I updated my blog. Not to say that nothing has been going on, a lot has!... I'm just not great with keeping up with social media and such.

I was honored to recently be cast in a NY Theater Festival play called "Special". Unfortunately, the play was cancelled just a few hours before our opening (which was supposed to be yesterday). I won't go into too many details, but it was pretty chaotic, especially after having learned a difficult script in less than a week. It was quite a disappointment to myself and 5 other hard working dedicated actresses, whom I truly loved working with. This is not the first time I've tirelessly rehearsed for a play just to have it cancelled by the director. As an actor, we come face to face with disappointments like these all the time.

Bummed, disappointed, and defeated, I quickly picked myself back up and reminded myself that I will never give up acting. This is what I love to do. I wouldn't be Romy if I didn't love acting and I didn't tirelessly pursue my dreams. I watched a few of my favorite, uplifting flicks (Forrest Gump, Moulin Rouge, La La Land) to remind myself that no matter what obstacles throw themselves in my path, I will never forget my passion. No matter what your passion, I urge you all to do the same. Never stop living. Never stop loving. Never stop dreaming.

If anything, this urged me to push myself to work harder. I'm now hitting the pavement, auditioning a lot, and looking for representation.

You'll see me soon!

Much love,

Romy
