"Acting is not about being someone different. It's finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there."

-Meryl Streep

Having joyously performed in VHS home movies since she the age of 5, Romy has had a lifelong love affair with acting. With over fifteen years of professional training, she is happy to say that she is acting in front of more advanced cameras these days. Romy’s versatility and constant desire to challenge herself has cast her in an eclectic range of characters from "The Cheshire Cat" in Alice in Wonderland to "Marilyn Monroe" in Marilyn and Jack

A native New Yorker, Romy has trained and resided in both NYC and Los Angeles. Her training has been primarily focused at the Matt Newton Acting Studio in NYC, where she attends their Film Acting Masterclass. Romy holds a BA in Psychology, which has always proved exceptionally useful when it comes to exploring new depths to character analysis.

Outside of the acting world - Romy is an avid traveler, yogi, and wine enthusiast. She also sells real estate in Brooklyn, where she resides with her dog, Ziggy.

Romy is currently writing, producing, and acting in her own short film. Stay tuned for updates!

Hey all!

First, a few updates: I'm doing more shows with the Vagina Monologues cast and will have a performance coming up at The Box Theater in NYC this Fall (stay tuned for details), I have a lead in an indie film (also can't tell you too much about just yet), I'm working on writing and acting in a short film, and I'm on the hunt for more auditions!

Now for the more personal stuff...

I have many things to be grateful for in my life. I have my own apartment in Williamsburg and I can still afford to go out to nice dinners and go on vacation. Most NYC actors can't say that. But I didn't get those things from acting. I got them from hustling in real estate, and being really lucky on some deals that I landed over the last 5 years. I got into real estate 5 years ago, not because it was my passion, but because I wanted a flexible job that didn't involve serving food, so I can have time to act. I wish I could say that I balanced the two. I didn't. I wanted so much to be financially independent...

I'm proud to be performing in my first ever Vagina Monologues!

Hey all! It's been a while since I updated my blog. Not to say that nothing has been going on, a lot has!... I'm just not great with keeping up with social media and such.

I was honored to recently be cast in a NY Theater Festival play called "Special". Unfortunately, the play was cancelled just a few hours before our opening (which was supposed to be yesterday). I won't go into too many details, but it was pretty chaotic, especially after having learned a difficult script in less than a week. It was quite a disappointment to myself and 5 other hard working dedicated actresses, whom I truly loved working with. This is not the first time I've tirelessly rehearsed for a play just to have it cancelled by the director. As an actor, we come face to face with disappointments like these all the time

Bummed, disappointed, and defeated, I quickly picked myself back up and reminded myself that I will never give up acting. This is what I love to do. I wouldn't be Romy if I didn't love actin...

I'm in the process of writing, producing, and now rehearsing my own short film! It's one thing to write your first screenplay, but it's such a delight to finally hear it out loud. I have such a great team working with me. I'm looking forward to finally work with my friend, fellow actor (and also fellow real estate agent!), Daniel Blatman. Another one of my favorite actors I've worked and studied with, Robb Stech is directing. My go to, talented cinematographer, Barbie Leung will be filming.

I can't tell you too much about the story just yet, but I promise it will be... lots of fun.

Filming starts in September.

I had a great time filming "Green House" with Brian May Productions. We filmed in a gorgeous penthouse apartment with INCREDIBLE views in South Williamsburg (I'm also a real estate agent, in case you couldn't tell). I played a lesbian artist names Josephine. She has the heart of an angel and she's also good with a saw! My inner "carpentress" had a lot of fun on this shoot. Now in post-production.

It's been a long time coming, but it's alive! After countless hours on the computer, I think I can now call myself a professional graphic designer. Thanks Wix.com!
